Does the institution offer at least one immersive, sustainability-focused educational study program that is one week or more in length?:
Yes
A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:
1) The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) club at Penn State Behrend construct vehicles that employ innovative technologies to reduce greenhouse emissions and petroleum consumption while maintaining consumer acceptability and usability.
This program takes place over the course of an academic year.
2) Students within the Sustainability Leadership minor are required to have at least a one-semester immersive experience, in addition to a one semester capstone. Since 2020, 5 students have graduated with the SUSTLD minor such that at any given point in time at least one student is involved in an immerse sustainability focused program.
3) Penn State also offers a number of courses and programs with sustainability-focused immersive experiences, both domestic and abroad.
