Numbers are based on a survey of Penn State University Park students taken in the 2010 Spring Semester. In this survey, 42% of students detailed their weekly participation in Community Service projects and events. In a follow up to this question, they were asked to detail the typical number of service hours they participated in during any given week in the semester.
