University Health Services' Health Promotion and Wellness (HPW) is an excellent resource for health care information and programs for Penn State students. Goals of this program include:
- increasing awareness and knowledge of health issues, such as sexual health, nutrition and fitness, wellness, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and body image and eating disorders
- promoting healthy lifestyle choices
- providing health education programs, information, and materials to students
- advocating for a healthy Penn State community.

Healthy Penn State (HPS) is an initiative led by University Health Services. HPS is a holistic approach to promoting well-being that encourages the development and maintenance of a sound body, mind, and spirit. See http://sites.psu.edu/healthypennstate/
Penn State's Human Resources Office offers Health & Wellness resources to faculty and staff, including a wide variety of programs, wellness and nutrition coaching, discounts on Weight Watchers programs and Healthways Fitness memberships, and the Employee Assistance Program, a free, confidential employee and family resource to be used as a first line of defense for personal or work-related concerns for employees or their family members. Health & Wellness program topics include Tobacco Cessation, Flu Shots/ Screenings, and Breastfeeding. http://ohr.psu.edu/health-matters
In addition, in January 2017, a new Employee Health and Wellness Center opened on the University Park campus. The Center provides cost-effective, high-quality and convenient care to Penn State employees for acute conditions, and is a reflection of the University's commitment to fostering a culture of health. Nurse practitioners from the College of Nursing will provide care along with physicians from Penn State Health. The innovative collaboration not only benefits Penn State faculty and staff, it also fulfills the College of Nursing’s mission to develop qualified nurse leaders at all levels of practice through integrated programs of nursing education, research, scholarship and outreach.
