Sustainability Committee (reports to University Resources Policy Committee)The purpose of the committee shall be to set five-year goals to advance the sustainability of the university, guided by Purdue University’s Sustainability Strategic Plan including but not limited to reducing overall energy consumption and transitioning to greater utilization of clean and renewable sources of energy, determine measurable objectives for achieving these goals, and evaluate progress in meeting the objectives.

Campus Planning, Architecture and Sustainability
The Campus Planning, Architecture and Sustainability unit is responsible for the campus planning process, architectural and landscape design standards, aesthetics, sustainability efforts, the development and implementation of the Sustainability Strategic Plan for Physical Facilities and sustainable design standards for facilities and infrastructure.
Purdue Sustainability is focused on providing a comprehensive approach to sustainability on campus through strategic initiatives, innovative projects and a long-term vision.
The Campus Planning, Architecture and Sustainability unit is responsible for the campus planning process, architectural and landscape design standards, aesthetics, sustainability efforts, the development and implementation of the Sustainability Strategic Plan for Physical Facilities and sustainable design standards for facilities and infrastructure.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The Campus Planning, Architecture and Sustainability (CPAS) unit serves as an institution-wide coordinating body for sustainability and sustainability-related efforts with a particular focus on the Physical Facilities Sustainability Master Plan and the associated goals. CPAS staff and interns have completed many activities including:
Implementing new recycling signage and infrastructure in the Academic core of campus to educate students, staff, faculty, and visitors of proper disposal methods.
Coordinate the integration of sustainability features into campus buildings including the oversite of LEED certification for major projects.
Progress numerous grounds related goals such as the tree planting and bicycle infrastructure goals, and developed a Sustainable Landscape Plan by FY22 to incorporate current best practices and sustainable approaches to open space maintenance.
Oversee multiple engagement opportunities including a Farmers’’ Market, Green Week, Earth Week, and more.
