A brief description of the socially responsible investment option for retirement plans:
Socially-responsible investment options are available through the Alternate Benefit Plan, through which employees can choose one of many investment companies, at least some of which have socially responsible investment options. For example, AXA Equitable has their EQ/Calvert Socially Responsible investment fund.
Participation in a state administered retirement system is mandated by state law. Raritan Valley Community College employees may be eligible to participate in:

ABP - Alternate Benefit Plan
PERS is a Defined Benefit Plan retirement benefits are based upon a formula using years of pension-credited service and final average salary (FAS).
ABP is a Defined Contribution Plan offered to faculty and certain administrators. Retirement benefits are based upon investment earnings. The following investment carriers are available to ABP members, as well as for supplemental retirement annuities (SRAs) and the ACTS program.
