ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE:
The program provides a comprehensive understanding of the functions of local and global ecosystems and examines how they are affected by human activities. Students consider scientific evidence demonstrating how human activities threaten many ecosystems, and they critically study alternatives to present practices. The Environmental Science program trains students to examine the impact of man on the environment from sociological, political and economic viewpoints.
Graduates are able to:
• demonstrate and apply knowledge of natural and human dimensions of environmental issues from local to global scales.
• demonstrate and apply skills in scientific methodology including literature research, data analysis and interpretation, and preparation of scientific presentations and reports relating to environmental issues.
• identify areas of academic specialization, career, and employment opportunities in environmental science and related fields.
COMMERCIAL ENERGY MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY, ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE
Students receive instruction in quantitative and manipulative skills associated with web-based Digital Controls, Controller hardware and software set-up and troubleshooting, networking, integration and programming as it applies to building automation; building walk-throughs for the identification of Energy Conservation Opportunities (ECOs), Level 1 & Level-2 Energy Audits, Analysis of Equipment/System performance and the Commissioning Process. Students learn to use tools and testing instruments used in the field by Energy Auditors and Building Commissioning Agents, and perform building walk-throughs and assemble Energy Audit reports, together with the use of Energy Auditing software.

The various courses which comprise the curriculum of studies in the ECTC program emphasize instruction where students are trained in proper system design and equipment selection procedures that lead to improved energy efficiencies, which in turn assure a sustainable future. This is especially important as the industry transitions during decarbonization.

Learning outcomes in the catalog have been shortened. As a result, the past explicit reference to sustainability in some of the Business program learning outcomes in the catalog was bundled into an outcome on business ethics. Sue Dorward followed up with Business department chair Tracy Rimple about the business ethics learning outcome, which Tracy Rimple affirms includes "recognize and evaluate increasing demands of sustainability and corporate responsibility." Note that this outcome is explicitly stated in the Supply Chain business program but applies to all business programs.
