The campus is managed under the US EPA Portfolio Manager. An integrated pest management policy is followed campus-wide.
Recycling bins are available in all hallways. Organics collection containers are provided in the cafeteria, lounge and meeting areas. LED lighting has been installed in most locations, and all new bathroom fixtures are metered/sensor-driven, low-flow, and/or or waterless (urinals).
RVCC has a green cleaning program. Our floor machines all use the Tennant Echo H2O charged water cleaning method. We use hydrogen peroxide cleaners as a substitute for bleach. Since COVID started (spring 2020) we have been using hypochlorous acid in pump spray bottles and aerosolizers. Green cleaners and FSC and Ecologo paper products are used where possible.
