Which of the following best describes the institution’s approach to rainwater management?:
Comprehensive policies, plans or guidelines that require LID practices for all new projects

A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
New construction projects will have rain water capture of some form wherever feasible. Bateman and Workforce buildings have rainwater collection and cisterns that feed toilets and irrigate a green wall. Hunterdon Hall has a green roof. The Conference Center has rainwater collection and cisterns that feed an enabling garden, with overflow to a rain garden. The Grounds Garage has a rain barrel that is used for watering plants and self-watering planters. The College is River Friendly certified (which includes rainwater management) through a local organization.

A copy of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines:
A brief description of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines that supports the responses above:
RVCC has implemented stormwater management projects as part of the campus River Friendly certification, which was awarded in June 2011. The college works hard to reduce stormwater and manage stream buffers. No mow and vegetated areas buffer the streams. Rain barrels, rain harvesting systems, and stormwater basins capture runoff. New construction projects include rainwater harvesting and green roofs.
