A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
The goal of the Social Change Service Leadership Certificate is to introduce students to the Social Change Model and to give students the opportunity to learn about important community needs through the use of topical workshops and service projects. Topic areas for the 2012-2013 academic year include: Poverty, Homelessness, Youth, Education, and Injustice. For each Social Change Service Leadership Concentration, students will engage in an interactive two hour workshop to explore the topic area. These interactive workshops will ignite discussion, broaden participants’ perspectives, and spark ideas for solutions. Following the workshop, the group will reconvene to complete a related service project together.
