Into the ROC
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Into the ROC gives students the opportunity to explore the unique challenges and cultural treasures in the greater-Rochester community through our three types of trips: People, Places, and Possibilities. Transportation is provided for ALL trips.
People:
The People’s track invites a limited amount of students, staff and faculty on regional trips to learn about our local history and to discuss how that influences our present and future lives. These trips are offered in collaboration with the Division of Diversity & Inclusion.
Places
The Places Track is all about exploration! Whether it is a night at the Strong Museum of Play or a tour of ArtisanWorks, these events are meant to introduce students to the unique spaces and local attractions Rochester has to offer.
Possibilities:
The Possibilities Track brings students to organizations across the city to help work towards the greater good. At these events students spend their time volunteering alongside local leaders and active community members. In the 2018-2019 academic year Into the ROC preformed over 1,550 hours of volunteer service equaling an economic impact of $46,800.
