A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
A group of RIT employees and students established and maintain a community garden on the campus grounds, south of the Tennis Courts. Any community member with an affiliation or connection to RIT (such as faculty, staff, students, alumni, retirees, parents and families, members of the RIT Osher Lifelong Learning Community, community members who use the campus for recreation purposes, etc.) are welcome to join the RIT Community Garden. There are many ways people can get involved in the garden including signing up for a plot, garden workdays, and classes. The garden is located adjacent to the Gene Polisseni Arena and tennis courts, and is viewable and accessible to the public. Excess produce from the gardens is distributed among the community through the Food Share program, and to local organizations including Roc Food Not Bombs.
