A brief description of the institution’s program to support employee volunteering:
Annually, all faculty, staff, and administrators participate in a paid service day, now known as the Beth Auger Day of Service. Service site locations include: Camp Sunshine (Casco), Catholic Charities-Threads of Hope (Portland), Habitat for Humanity ReStore (Portland), Maine Society for the Protection of Animals (Windham), November’s Harvest Farm (Limington), Pine Root Farms (Steep Falls), Preble Street Resource Center (Portland), Raymond Beautification Committee (Raymond), Riding to the Top Therapeutic Riding Center (Windham), Ronald McDonald House (Portland), Wayside Food Salvage (Portland).
Faculty and staff are also encouraged to participate in annual service trips to Haiti and Guatemala and are recognized for their service. Service is recognized in merit compensation and tenure consideration.
