A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
Commuter students in the on-campus program are surveyed biannually for commuter miles, behaviors, and vehicle efficiency. Results are factored into scope 3 emissions in the greenhouse gas inventory, and the air pollutant inventory. Online students, by definition, telecommute for their academic activities. The percentage of students e.g. telecommuting is based on total student numbers, full- and part-time (not FTE).

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:
On-campus employees are surveyed biannually for commuter miles, behaviors, and vehicle efficiency (as is done with students). Results are factored into scope 3 emissions in the greenhouse gas inventory, and the air pollutant inventory. Some employees in the on-campus program use efficient transportation (bicycle, motor scooter, walk, or telecommute). Full-time and part-time employees working remotely in the online division, by definition, telecommute for their academic activities.
