The central sustainability portal is a page within the larger Saint Mary's College Website. Easily accessed from the home page under 'About Saint Mary's: Our Commitments', sustainability is one of three meta commitments - Inclusive Excellence, Sustainability and Catholic Intellectual Tradition.
Upon accessing the page, viewers are given access to a number of sub-directories including information specific for students,overview of the campus' Sustainability Committee, access to specific Education and Research Initiatives that support sustainability, as well as highlights of on-campus initiatives, an archive of related news, and how to connect to sustainability programs.

Sodexo, the vendor that provides food services to Saint Mary's College provides extensive signage in the dining hall on healthy alternatives, reducing consumption and waste and sustainable sourcing.
Signage includes emphasis on waste reduction, a closed loop approach to waste composting, how to select healthier food alternatives and to eat more balanced meals.

A sustainability walking map is found in our annual report (last released, April 2014), which is present at Admissions tours. In addition, Student Ambassadors are provided annual training on SMC's efforts to ensure that our sustainability tour is conveyed to prospective new students and families.

Located on the campus website, options for commuters and on campus students wishing to get off campus have access to information on local alternative transportation routes. The fact that local commuter buses are free to students is clearly displayed. A connecting shuttle to BART (the regional rapid transit system), specifically for students at night and weekends is also highlighted.

The Green Gael Certification Manual began in Fall 2015 and is a quiz that educates and motivates students to consider various sustainable (green) living behaviors. Over a 100 have completed the quiz, with over 80% becoming certified.
Additionally, with a direct link from the Sustainability for Students web page, Saint Mary's utilizes third party published materials on how to live green in the campus dorm.
