A brief summary of the institution’s approach to sustainable landscape management:
SMC mulches green waste and reuses it onsite to reduce erosion and water consumption. Further, this year, a demonstration native garden was developed as a guide for future landscaping plans, which utilizes organic/certified management techniques.
Currently, landscaping guidelines are being developed in concert with our 2015-2020 Campus Master Plan, that will address more of the below practices.
