Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
Yes
A brief description of the incentive program(s):
For the past three years, the Academic Subcommittee of the President's Sustainability Committee has hosted an annual Sustainability Symposium with the goal of bringing faculty and students together to share their research and teaching materials related to sustainability. The Symposium has also been a space to host guest lectures, review seminal literature, and discuss the importance of incorporating sustainability into course curriculum across divisions and departments.
A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:
There are no financial incentives, participation in the symposium is voluntary. However, the hope is that academic staff who attend the symposium will leave with sustainability-related ideas, tools and material that they can incorporate into their existing courses.
