STUDENTS
For students at Saint Mary's, the Counseling Center for Psychological Services (CAPS) provides a broad array of services, including individual and group counseling in topics such as transition and change, relationship issues, identity, grief/loss, substance abuse, body image/issues with food, depression and anxiety. Both individual counseling and workshops are conducted by the Center (http://www.stmarys-ca.edu/counseling-center-psychological-services-caps).
The Health & Wellness Center (http://www.stmarys-ca.edu/hwc) provides proactive campaigns to address student wellness through clinic visits and outreach programming which focus on college health awareness topics such as alcohol awareness, stress, nutrition, physical activity, eating disorders, smoking cessation and work-life balance programs and workshops. Additionally, a peer health education program has been developed to encourage peer-to-peer mentoring.
Additionally, the Health & Wellness Center programming is inclusive and open to all members of the community. Outreach programs are provided during Community Time so that all faculty and staff members may also benefit from awareness and outreach efforts provided by the Health Promotion staff.

In addition to the EAP, a unique Wellness Program is launching in September 2015. "Wellbeing At SMC’s" design is based on periodic assessments and interest surveys evaluating program components important to staff and faculty. The program offers both existing and new wellness resources such as health coaching, individual confidential health assessments, nutrition, fitness, yoga, pilates and meditation classes as well as neck/back care sessions. Saint Mary’s also offers discounted gym membership at their new on-site recreation center as a way to encourage proactive management of an individual’s health.
