Residence Hall Compost & Recycling Ambassador Program
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
All Resident Advisors (RAs) are provided with zero waste training and best practices for peer outreach. After the formal training, the student RAs are required to employ passive and/or engaged peer-to-peer educational programming in each of their residence halls so that all residents on the Saint Mary’s campus are served. The focus of the educational programming is on composting, recycling and waste sorting into our three-stream waste system. Each RA is provided with educational and marketing resources (posters, flyers, compost pails) from our waste provider (Republic Services), as well as support in administering these programs from our Office of Sustainability.

Green Gaels Student Chartered Organization
A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
The Green Gaels Student Chartered Organization has 5 members on their executive team who receive training and administrative support from Saint Mary's Office of Sustainability. The organization also receives financial resources from Associated Students. The Executive Team members are trained in sustainability practices as well as effective outreach and engagement practice to they can share what they have learned with their classmates/peers. Green Gaels often table on-campus, do in-class presentations, hold workshops in the Legacy Garden all in the spirit of training their peers about sustainability.

Free Store Managers
A brief description of the student educators program (3rd program):
The Free Store Managers educate their peers on the impact of reusing and thrifting. The Free Store holds pop-up shops, has a website and a several social media platforms, employs education and outreach campaigns throughout the year in an effort to educate peers on the importance of re-use and waste diversion.
