Saint Mary's College orientation for new or transferring students includes both explicit and implicit sustainability awareness programs. Tangible awareness programs include:
1. Waste diversion education at the bins in the dining hall and during move-in day.
2. Printed orientation materials have been reduced or eliminated to minimize paper usage and include discussion of sustainability practices and living while on campus.
3. Every first year receives a reusable to-go container they can use in our campus dining hall, and our food service provider will take their dirty container and swap it out with a clean one as part of our Choose to Reuse program.
