A brief description of the initiatives specifically designed to recruit sustainability employees from underrepresented groups:
The Sustainability Office sends available job postings to a wide range of offices and departments throughout campus to ensure we are getting a broad range of candidates, this includes sending job postings to our High Potential Program (for first generation and low-income students) and certain clubs. The Sustainability Office makes sure to use inclusive language in all job descriptions and recruitment flyers.

Does the sustainability office ensure that sustainability employees complete DEI training?:
Yes

A brief description of the DEI trainings for sustainability employees:
All Sustainability Student Leaders are required to undertake training at the beginning of the academic year. This training includes a diversity, equity, inclusion and allyship workshop, break out session and discussion. In these trainings we define key concepts, discuss identity and why it matters, creating an that environment that celebrates difference, the importance of shifting the status-quo of inclusion and inequity, and making space for marginalized voices.

Does the sustainability office regularly collaborate on events, projects, or initiatives with the institution’s DEI office/program and/or organizations that support underrepresented groups on campus?:
Yes

A brief description of events, projects, or initiatives during the previous year developed in collaboration with the DEI office/program and/or organizations that support underrepresented groups on campus:
Our Office of Sustainability regularly collaborates with various Office that support underrepresented groups on campus, including but not limited to CCIE, the High Potential Program, CILSA and the Intercultural Center.

Does the sustainability office or committee include at least one individual with formal DEI and/or environmental or social justice responsibilities?:
Yes

Documentation of the formal DEI and/or environmental or social justice responsibilities:
Several members of our Sustainability Committee have social justice and DEI responsibilities, including sitting on the College Committee of Inclusive Excellence as well as supporting the Bias Incident Response Team.
