Seeds@City Urban Farm is both a vegetable/fruit production farm and an outdoor laboratory for the sustainable agriculture program. All agriculture courses at City College spend time applying theoretical skills learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios at the farm.
The farm is comprised of 4 different campus locations - totaling 1 acre of growing space. The sites include the Main Farm Site, the Orchard Site, the "S" Beds (in front of the S building), and the rooftop Greenhouse.
The farm offers students and campus community members the opportunity to learn about sustainable food production in a hands-on, community-oriented environment.

One of City’s parking garage has a mural on climate threatened birds. Exhibitions in City Gallery occasionally include themes of sustainability, climate change, land use, climate justice, water issues and other ecological art. Many of these exhibitions feature local artists and often student work, college, and high school are shown with themes included above. The public engages in these exhibitions and with the mural to be inspired and empowered to make positive changes and understand the issues better.

The San Diego Community College District, of which SD City College is part, currently employs two students as Sustainability interns. Our interns work part-time and they are in charge of helping faculty and staff members with gathering data for the STARS report and the Sustainability report, as well as writing for grant proposals and helping with any other overall environmental and sustainability-focused initiative.
