Board of Trustees Policy
BP 7800 - GREEN BUILDING POLICY AND MAJOR RENOVATION STANDARDS POLICY
The Board of Trustees hereby establishes a Green Building Policy and Major Renovation Standards to govern all projects which meet the minimum requirements. The goal of this policy is to provide District students, faculty, and staff with working and learning environments that are healthy, thermally, visually, and acoustically comfortable; energy efficient; material efficient; water efficient; easy to maintain and operate; safe and secure and sited in an environmentally responsible manner. In order to implement this policy in a cost-effective and efficient manner, the District will select architects, engineers and other professionals who are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited as deemed appropriate as well as encourage District personnel to become familiar with these standards.
