The gardens on campus were originally funded by California Audubon and planted for migratory birds and butterflies and focusing on the monarch butterflies.

Methodologies
If yes to either of the above, provide the following:
We have had grants from California Audubon and National Audubon to assess and support migrating birds and butterflies, expanding the areas that have native plants used for the landscaping. This has lowered our water use and increased the biodiversity on campus.
A brief description of the scope of the assessment(s):
We started with a survey with 3 species of birds and now have 41 species of birds making our campus their home during migration.

SDCCD Administrative Procedure on Sustainability mentions: “development of a wildlife and native plant management strategy that supports habitat conservation, management and biodiversity within our campuses and their surrounding areas.”
