The student organization the Enviro-Business Society of San Diego State University facilitates an Eco-Rep program that is available to all students on the SDSU campus. Any instructor has the capability of having Eco-Reps present in their class. Eco-Reps also train housing committees where they teach their RA's about the sustainability actions that they can pass on to the students that live on campus. The Eco-Reps also have a voiceover video of their Eco-Rep presentation that you will be able to find on the Enviro-Business Society's website or the campus sustainability website. This video is accessible to all students, faculty, and staff of San Diego State University.
A brief description of how the student educators are selected:
The student educators were elected through an intensive interview process within the executive board of the Enviro-Business Society. These selected became the Co-Chairs on the Eco-Rep Committee and they, in turn, recruit volunteers to teach the Eco-Rep presentation to other classes and housing areas throughout the campus.
A brief description of the formal training that the student educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:
A formal training was created with facility services to compile the data that was necessary to put into the Eco-Rep training. The slides and presentations were made after careful delegation and feedback from the staff on campus to understand the sustainability issues around campus that could easily be solved though brief education. As well as a summary of the current sustainability offerings we have on campus, including how to reduce your carbon footprint.

Facilities Services assisted in the creation of the Eco-Rep presentation and led the training to the Eco-Rep chairs.
