A brief description of the diversity and equity committee, office and/or officer, including purview and activities:
The University has a Division of Diversity and Innovation with approximately 40 employees dedicated to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion on campus. The Division has student facing efforts, including the following student centers: Latinx Resource Center, Native Student Resource Center, Black Resource Center, PRIDE Center, Women's Resource Center, Center for Intercultural Relations, Center for Transformative Justice, and the Undocumented Resource Area. The University will be launching a Center for Asian American, Pacific Islander and Desi students in Fall. The Division also has extensive faculty and staff facing programs and efforts, including: The Professors of Equity (that train all searches on implicit bias and microaggressions), 13 Employee Resource Groups, the Center for Inclusive Excellence etc. Overall, SDSU has one of the most robust diversity and inclusion efforts in the nation.

All students participate in diversity-related courses. A significant number are active in our One SDSU program, diversity-related clubs, and organizations. Our university has multiple offices and committees dedicated to diversity and inclusion. The Center for Intercultural Relations focuses on student success equity and inclusion. The Division of Diversity and Innovation focuses on supporting faculty recruitment and retention, climate, strategic planning, professional development and outreach. We also have an extensive array of ally-related programs for undocumented students, military and veteran allies etc.
