A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:
When operating sustainable buildings, SCU typically uses LEED as a guide. The University has no written policy for developing sustainable buildings; however, each project is looked at on a case-by-case basis to determine what can reasonably be accomplished in terms a sustainable design. SCU also follows state guidelines for energy conservation and construction. At the end of the project, each building is commissioned, which is part of the LEED guidelines and criteria.
