Autonomous Vehicle Program
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
SCU is devoted to modifying its infrastructure, operations, and student/employee behaviors to decrease energy consumption and use more sustainable (low-carbon or carbon-free) methods of transportation. We are transforming our campus into a pedestrian- and public transit-friendly community. We have a partnership with a Silicon Valley startup to operate an electric driverless-shuttle on campus. We hope the project will continue to advance sufficiently to serve as a last-mile solution that will use driverless shuttles to connect people from our nearby public transit hub to their destinations, making the commute by public transportation more comfortable and more convenient.
