A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
We chose to include only faculty for whom research is considered in promotion and/or tenure decisions.
All faculty were sent a research survey in January 2023 in order to update the records our office has been keeping for several years. Respondents were asked to self-identify if they conduct sustainability research, based on the definitions provided in the survey. Definitions and prompts were based on the STARS Technical Manual. Additional faculty engaged in sustainability research were identified based on the following sources:
a) Self-identification via past surveys (we confirmed they are still doing sustainability research)
b) Sustainability Research Initiative grant awardees list
c) Environmental Justice Research grant awardees list
d) Hackworth Research in Applied Ethics grant awardees list
