A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
All current students, faculty, and staff have free access to many recreational facilities on campus like Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center, pool, tennis, and Bellomy Field for physical wellness.
The Cowell Center offers services to students for both physical and emotional health.
• Student Health Services provides primary care, urgent care, minor procedures, physical exams, health education, immunizations, STI testing, nutrition services, and pharmacy services.
• Counseling and Psychological Services provides well-being through short-term therapy, crisis support, groups & workshops.
The Wellness Center is home to three student groups:
• Peer Health Educators - a peer network to encourage, support, and advance healthful living for all SCU students.
• Violence Prevention Educators - student-based sexual assault prevention, education, and bystander awareness.
• Collegiate Recovery Program - supportive community for students in recovery, and those in hope of recovery.
Human Resources offers all eligible employees (faculty & staff) numerous benefits that support their well-being.
• Health Benefits - medical, dental, and vision plans
• Financial Planning Benefits - retirement plan programs, one-on-one financial appointments, student loan forgiveness assistance, and life insurance
• Education Benefits - tuition remission, tuition reimbursement, tuition exchange, and professional development workshops
• Mental Health & Wellness - Employee Assistance Program (EAP), elder care, child care, pet care, and weekly health & wellness workshops
• Time Off Benefits - sick leave, vacation leave, bereavement leave, COVID-Sick Time Off, and personal time off
