A brief description of the institution’s indoor air quality program(s) (including information about regular auditing or monitoring, mechanisms for occupants to register complaints, and action plans):
SRU's indoor air quality management program begins with meeting LEED standards for construction phase IAQ management for all new construction and major renovations. Where appropriate, carbon dioxide monitoring systems are employed at large conference spaces and auditoriums to ensure adequate levels of ventilation are maintained while controlling energy costs. Our in-house EH&S Department, along with Zone Maintenance Supervisors who are responsible for maintaining specific buildings and therefore familiar with the occupants and their concerns, respond to any work order requests by building occupants to address IAQ concerns. SRU's EH&S Department also includes certified asbestos technicians that regularly identify and remediate any existing asbestos at risk of being disturbed by upcoming renovations.
