Faculty members met with each department to describe the current STARS definitions for "sustainability" courses and courses including a sustainability component, and to have individual faculty members document those courses that (a) fit under one of these categories, (b) was actually taught during the previous academic year, and (c) had 4 or more students enrolled in the class. Each course was only counted once, regardless of the number of times it was offered during the year.
