"Analytics, Sustainability and Cost Savings" - Presented by VP Amir Mohammadi at the 2018 Integrating Analytics Forum, National Association of College and University Business Officers, Phoenix, AZ November 30, 2018. This presentation described an innovative approach to abandoning the "business as usual" approach to incrementally addressing deferred maintenance ("DM") needs in favor of funding $21 million of deferred maintenance and energy conservation projects through a Guaranteed Energy savings Agreement. This program, to be implemented over two years (instead of twenty) dramatically increases our cumulative GHG emissions reductions - had we continued to budget $1 to $2 million per year in DM projects, our cumulative GHG reductions over the next 20 years would have amounted to an estimated 40,000 MTeCO2; by fast-tracking these projects, our cumulative GHG reductions over the same time period were estimated to be 800,000 MTeCO2.
