A list of sponsored research was provided by the Division of Research and Economic Development. The following key words (pulled from the sustainability definitions SDSU used for this report) were searched for in the research project title.
• Ecolog (for ecology, ecological)
• Restor (for restore, restoration)
• Preserv (for preserve, preservation)
• Sustain (for sustainable, sustainability)
• Energy
• Natural
• Resource
• Basic (for basic needs)
• Human (for human rights, human needs)
• Right (for human rights)
• Social
• Equity
• Equal (for equal and equality)
• Diversity
From there each project title was read and deciphered if it fell into the definition of sustainability.
