A brief description of the campus climate assessment(s) :
The Campus Climate Survey’s purpose was to gather data about our institutional climate, inclusion, and work-life issues to better assess the learning, living, and working environment for students, faculty, professional and civil service staff. SDSU consulted with Rankin & Associates and the survey was administered to all students and employees October thru November 2013. The results are still being analyzed. Final results will identify action steps and areas to focus on for SDSU.

Has the institution assessed student diversity and educational equity?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the student diversity and educational equity assessment(s):
Retention data is collected and observed, but the information is dependent on students’ willingness to self-identify. Data is collected as part of enrollment confirmation. The data is used to help scale a response to student needs. Similarly, it helps SDSU realize when there is a significant number of students identifying with an ethnicity. SDSU then examines how to serve them more directly.
