A waste baseline was not created before this STARS submission. Unfortunately, despite our desire to go back further, 2013 was the first year we could get accurate data for. We implemented composting and improved recycling from 2009-2013, but those improvements are not reflected well in the comparison of 2013 and 2016.

The institution also recycles a significant amount of concrete and styrofoam. The concrete is created from a training program at the Georgetown campus. In 2016, we recycled 459 tons of concrete. We also partner with a third party to recycle styrofoam, which we mostly acquire through deliveries. However, we do not receive tonnage on recycled styrofoam. W
