Employees coordinate many charity drives for state and regional beneficiaries. Examples include the Governor's State Employee Food Drive (Februrary), the Oregon Charitable Fund drive, and the Polar Plunge fundraiser for Special Olympics.

The Civic Engagement Program hosts a variety of small- and large-scale service events throughout the year. Along with national days of service including Mt. Ashland Day of Service, Make a Difference Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we plan and implement Alternative Breaks three times per year; coordinate annual community service events for incoming students; and organize recurring volunteer events for individuals and small groups. Along with community service opportunities offered through the CE Program, myriad courses require students to fulfill community-based learning hours. Student athletes are also expected to complete at least ten hours of community service each year, though it is not a requirement.
