A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:
The questions in the assessment were selected from examples from other colleges and universities and then in some cases were adapted to Ontario's economic, environmental and social landscape. We utilized google forms

A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :
The sample student body is from the Energy Systems Engineering Technology program, a program that focuses on renewable energy and energy management. The program has three cohorts and each was given the assessment during course hours. The sustainability manager visited each class, and described the nature of the assessment and gave a background on the the AASHE and STARS. Students were given 15 minutes to submit there anonymous answers to the survey questions. Once the surveys were complete, we have a 15 minute discussion about the questions and results.

A brief summary of results from the literacy assessment(s), including a description of any measurable changes over time:
This was our first sustainability assessment. In the future the entire student body will be assessed. The results from our first sample survey were promising. Students seem to understand the potential effects of climate change, the contributing factors and the urgency of the issue. They may not completely understand the broad definition of sustainability, as only 31 students realized that tit includes Social, Environmental and Economic.
