A brief description of notable policies or programs to make the institution accessible and affordable to low-income students:
1. The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at SUNY Brockport assists economically and educationally disadvantaged students to achieve their educational goals. The Educational Opportunity Program is committed to enhancing student success through legislative and institutional funds provided to assist in meeting the cost of direct financial aid, supplemental instruction, and counseling. Student learning and success is our goal.

2. Brockport Basic Needs - This BPT Basic Needs information provides students with the important resources for day-to-day needs such as food and emergency housing. BPT Basic Needs Objectives include: Reducing barriers that may prevent students from connecting to resources, Cultivate a campus-wide referral network, and Explore resources and support services to meet students’ basic needs.

3. Food insecurity resources at SUNY Brockport - The Brockport Ecumenical Food Shelf serves community members, including SUNY Brockport students, who live in the Brockport Central School District area below Ridge Road. Requests for food items can be made once a month by calling (585) 637-8169 or info@brockportfoodshelf.org. Additionally, Brockport established an on-campus food pantry to assist with food insecurity.

4. Fannie Barrier Williams Scholarship Program - The Fannie Barrier Williams Scholarship Program offers high potential students from low-income families the opportunity to thrive at SUNY Brockport. The Fannie Barrier Williams Scholars (FBWS) program provides four-year scholarships (with the option of a fifth year) to students from low-income families with unmet financial need. Approximately 30 students receive these awards, which will supplement existing State and Federal programs and cover traditional out-of-pocket expenses such as room-and-board and fees.

5. Amazon Career Choice Program - Career Choice is an education benefit that empowers Amazon employees to learn new skills for career success. Our goal is to meet individual learners where they are on their educational journey through a variety of education and skills training opportunities. Amazon is committed to removing barriers for employees seeking higher education opportunities.

6. Excelsior & TAP programs: As a SUNY institution, students are eligible for state aid, in addition to federal financial aid. The Excelsior and Tuition Assistance Programs provide additional funding to middle to lower income students.

7. Scholarship Program: 3 out of 4 students receive merit-based scholarships upon admission, making college more affordable. Millions of dollars are invested in our students through our scholarship program each year.

1. Amazon Career Choice Program - Career Choice is an education benefit that empowers Amazon employees to learn new skills for career success. Our goal is to meet individual learners where they are on their educational journey through a variety of education and skills training opportunities. Amazon is committed to removing barriers for employees seeking higher education opportunities. This program is for working adults and offers financial assistance.
2. Degree Completion Program - With the flexibility of an online learning format, students arrange coursework around professional and personal responsibilities, while furthering their education and building their skillset. Students can choose from a variety of 100% online degree completion programs to become part of the SUNY Brockport academic community, advance their career and increase their earning potential. - https://www2.brockport.edu/admissions/information/returning-adults/
3. Veteran and Military Students - We are honored to help support and guide military service members and veterans. A Veterans program is coordinated by Financial Aid and the Academic Success Center, and includes financial advising and support, parking, and engagement opportunities.
4. Non-Degree Seeking Students - Students wishing to take up to 24 credits, non-degree seeking, without officially enrolling at SUNY Brockport may apply as a non-matriculated student.
5. Campus Daycare: We have a daycare on campus, which offers a convenient option for students who need childcare.
6. Completion Program Specialist- A dedicated staff member assists individuals who have some college but no degree, helping them find a path to continue on with their studies and graduate.
