Does the institution have a bicycle-sharing program or participate in a local bicycle-sharing program?:
Yes

A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:
PedalShare
FSC has partnered with PedalShare, a local bike share company located out of the Hamptons. They are also the bike share service that Suffolk County uses. The advantage to this is that we are working collaboratively not just within campus limits, but beyond to the Village of Farmingdale to get bike racks in both places. This will make a more wholesome and useful system for the bikers.

Does the institution participate in a car sharing program?:
Yes

None
A brief description of the car sharing program:
511 NY Ride Share Portal
The Farmingdale State College Rideshare Portal service helps the campus community find carpools, vanpools, bicycle buddies and alternative transit options. On the portal, you can quickly create a profile and find members of the campus community who have similar travel routes and patterns and with whom you can share a ride. The system also lets you easily send potential rideshare partners an e-mail or give them a call. Your profile preferences will determine what information is shared with potential rideshare partners.

Car Free Day
Car Free Day is an international event celebrated every September in which people are encouraged to get around without cars and instead ride a train, bus, bicycle, carpool, subway or walk. This year, Long Island will once again join in by celebrating its 3rd Annual Car Free Day on Friday, September 22, 2017.
