A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:
The College has always been mindful of the impact of construction and operations on the campus, but the construction of our Science Center in 2004 created a culture shift toward green building practices. Since the construction of that LEED certified center, two dormitories were built to LEED standards. The College elected to by pass commissioning and certification costs and utilize the saved money to install green roofing on both structures. The Wistar Education Center, just completed this year, was awarded LEED Gold certification.
