Staff from the Office of Sustainability, Facilities and Capital Planning, and Advancement presented at the Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education during the fall of 2022. The sessions were titled "From Planning to Implementation: Swarthmore's Carbon Free Future" and "Making the Case: Raise Funds, Cultivate Donors, & Position Sustainability as a Strategic Priority".

The Director of Sustainability and Director of Strategic Sourcing presented a session on sustainable purchasing at the National Association of Educational Procurement Mid-Atlantic chapter's annual conference in October 2022.

In 2021, Swarthmore College was named a finalist by the International Green Gown Awards in the Next Generation Learning and Skills category for our President's Sustainability Research Fellowship program.

Swarthmore College’s Zero Waste Working group recently launched a Regional Zero Waste Campus Collaboration (RZWCC) with schools across Delaware County and the neighboring areas. This collaboration is meant to connect local colleges and universities in the region, many of whom send their waste directly to the incinerator in Chester. This collaboration meets regularly throughout the academic year and allows staff working closely with waste management and operations from across these schools to connect on zero waste initiatives and policies, share information about waste education, and leverage combined power to create change within each campus and regionally.
