A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:
Swarthmore College is due to conduct an assessment in the next year. In previous years, departments across campus that deal with diversity, including the Women's Resource Center, Title IX House, Black Cultural Center, Intercultural Center, Interfaith Center, International Student Center put out annual reports on their programming and initiatives.
The Campus Climate Project, a report put out by consultant partners Rankin & Associates, was conducted in 2015 but remains a guiding document for comprehensive and inclusive diversity planning that will transform the institution into a model workplace. The Student Experience Visioning Study Report was performed in early 2017, and used to gauge the current student experience and envision a future experience. The overarching visions revolve around community and belonging, growth and development, and exploration and curiosity.

Emerging strategies were developed and prioritized through conversations and workshops with students, faculty, staff, alumni, leadership, and the Board of Managers. They aim to address the needs of students and achieve the future vision for the student experience at Swarthmore. The strategies take several forms including spaces, services, communications, policy, and programs. They lay the groundwork for future development and planning efforts with the involvement of the Swarthmore community. In the near term, members of the community will have opportunities to refine concepts and participate in prototyping strategies on campus. In the longer term, strategies will be implemented through capital planning projects as well as service, communication, policy, and program solutions

The reports have been published on the Swarthmore website and shared with the campus community via an email from College President Valerie Smith.
