In the past year, WELLNESS WORKS!, Texas A&M University’s official employee wellness program, continued to focus its efforts on building and sustaining a culture of holistic employee well-being. The Wellness Initiative Grant provided by Chancellor Sharp has been instrumental to program success, making a variety of wellness initiatives a reality across the A&M campus. In addition, University leadership through the allocation of additional University funding sources has reinforced the commitment to employee well-being. This support has made educational wellness opportunities available to employees on a monthly basis to help employees improve quality of life, decrease healthcare costs, increase engagement and productivity, as well as to help recruit and retain the exceptional faculty and staff who carryout out the mission of teaching, research, and service.
Some examples of the WELLNESS WORKS! program's include:
1. Implementation of Wellness Release Time which is 30 minutes, 3 times per week during work hours.
2. Over 30 free fitness activities/classes each week.
3. Onsite wellness checkups through Catapult Health.
4. Expanded flu vaccine clinic.
5. Employee Tuition Assistance Program
6. Financial Wellness Counseling
7. Parenting Resources
8. Sleep Education Resources
9. Ergonomics
10. WELL Leader program
11. Texas A&M is Living WELL Aware program
12. Summer Kickball League
13. Employee Health and Wellness Fair
Texas A&M System Benefits Administration has entered into an agreement with Deer Oaks Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Services to extend services to all A&M System members including Texas A&M University. Deer Oaks EAP services are available at no cost to benefit-eligible faculty and staff employees as well as their dependents/household members. Services cover up to five, confidential short-term mental health counseling sessions per person per issue per year (the presenting issue can be re-assessed after one year from the initial date of service).
Texas A&M offers numerous Wellness services to our student population. Examples include:

The Aggie Recovery Network provides wellbeing support for students struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. http://studentlife.tamu.edu/hp/arc
