A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:
The B.S. in Environmental Studies (ENST) offers an extensive suite of policy courses which will enable you to understand the public policy debates surrounding environmental issues and ultimately participate in the formulation of policy. It integrates courses from the college’s four departments – Atmospheric Sciences, Geography, Geology and Geophysics, and Oceanography – to give you the solid foundation in Earth system sciences needed to effectively participate in and affect those debates. ENST majors will select an area of specialization from Urban Environments, Geographic Information Science and Technology, Environmental Regulation and Compliance, Occupational Health and Safety, or Global Environment.

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (2nd program):
The Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University provides advanced educational opportunities that prepare undergraduate students for leadership in the stewardship and study of terrestrial and aquatic ecological systems. A Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Conservation Biology emphasizes fundamental ecological knowledge and its application to biodiversity conservation, environmental health, and management of complex systems, involving aspects of ecology from genes to ecosystems to the globe. Four degree tracks provide flexibility to pursue one’s chosen career path and readies students for success in a future that needs their expertise.
The BS in ECCB degree will emphasize acquisition of fundamental ecological knowledge and its application to biodiversity conservation, environmental health, and the management of complex systems, such as interactions involving aspects of ecology from genes to ecosystems, landscapes, hydrology, and climate. Four tracks (Ecology and Conservation Biology, Ecoinformatics, Forest Resources, and Vertebrate Zoology) are offered to provide flexibility in preparing for a given career path.

The B.S. in Environmental Geosciences is an interdisciplinary geosciences degree with course content drawn from meteorology, geology, oceanography, and physical geography. The undergraduate major in Environmental Geosciences requires extensive preparation in science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) and math (Calculus and Statistics). This major prepares you for careers involving fieldwork and lab work. In the junior and senior year, Environmental Geosciences majors select a theme specialization from Biosphere, Climate Change, Coastal and Marine Environments, Human Impact on the Environment, or Water.

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration:
The Minor in Sustainable Architecture and Planning provides undergraduate students with a multidisciplinary approach to understanding sustainability of the built environment. The curriculum emphasizes an awareness of responsible practices at a variety of scales impacting the built environment: buildings, communities, architectural systems, global resource management, and social equity. Students will become aware of responsible architectural design and develop critical thinking skills to address the multifaceted issues facing the profession today.
