The Ohio State University establishes compensation rates primarily by relevant competitive labor markets, the impact of the position or team on the mission of the unit, and available funding. The university ensures compliance with the guidelines set forth by the Fair Labor Standards Act, which establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, and recordkeeping laws. Also, the university pays at or above the Ohio minimum wage of $8.10/hour, which exceeds the current Federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour.
