A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
The Sustainability Office collaborates directly with Human Resources to provides a 5-10 minute presentation during New Employee Orientation workshops. This presentation provides an overview of what the sustainability office does and how we are working to address multiple dimensions of sustainability which are integrated in our operations, academics, and engagement. We tackle and discuss topics such energy, waste, water, equity, etc. The presentation also provides resources and information on how employees can participate in sustainability on campus. The website and contact information are provided to each new employee as well as relevant outlets to access further resources (i.e. how we communicate about events, our twitter page, etc.).
In addition the link to the sustainability website is available under the Work Life section of the HR website as a resource to new employees when they are familiarizing themselves with their responsibilities as a TMU employee.
