A brief description of the IPM plan(s) :
Tufts facilities monitors, identifies, and uses spot treating along with sound horticultural practices. There is regular seeding and fertilization at the rate of 4 pounds of nitrogen per thousand square foot per year, which is done by a licensed contractor. We mainly fertilize with fertilizer consisting of methlene urea or sulphur coated urea to give a slow release. On the grounds we do three applications and only treat broadleaf weeds and crabgrass where we find them in accordance with IPM specifications. This occurs on approximately 20 acres on the grounds.
