Tufts University works closely with municipal/local leaders. If there is legislation and/or ordinances that would impact our campus, we contact our local elected officials and/or attend meetings to weigh in on these issues.

The University hosts Community Resilience Building workshops and invites local/state leaders to participate.
The University hosts sustainability leaders like Al Gore on campus and invites local stakeholders to those lectures.

Yes

The University regularly hosts government officials from the national level on campus. Our faculty, staff, and students are given the opportunity to meet with these leaders and ask questions about public policies.
In 2017, Tufts signed onto the We Are Still In coalition, a group of over 2,800 corporations, non-profits, states, cities, colleges, and universities who pledge to uphold the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement despite the U.S. backing out in 2017.
In February 2018, Tufts and the Woods Hole Research Center signed an agreement to collaborate on research and design for national policies concerning climate change and in support of the Paris Climate Agreement. https://whrc.org/whrc-signs-agreement-with-tufts-to-advance-national-climate-policies/

The Fletcher School at Tufts University regularly hosts international leaders on sustainability and opens these lectures to the public.
The University sent a delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change's 24th Conference of the Parties (COP 24) in December of 2018 as well as COP 23 in 2017.
