A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
C&D materials are collected in specific dumpster separate from MSW. All C&D waste generated is sent to EL Harvey's a recycling facility which sort C&D material through a series of automated processes. These processes remove wood, plastic, metal, aggregate, and cardboard from construction loads. E.L. Harvey provides monthly reports to UMMS including the amount of C&D collected from out sites. Does not include C&D which is managed and paid for by a contractor as part of a project contract.
