A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Management – UMass Chan uses the Aircuity system to monitor IAQ allowing us to lower air changes per hour (ACH) when possible.
Energy Management – UMass Chan utilizes Building Automation and third party data analyses to determine problems or areas of opportunity. UMass Chan also uses Siemens Clouds Ops service to monitor equipment function and efficiency. This system is monitored through work with a data analytical vendor IDS to remotely monitor our systems using their “Energy Witness” tool.
In addition, the Office of Sustainability monitors all energy and water consumption on campus on a monthly basis, looking closely for errors, outliers, and simple explanations to rises and falls of the metrics.
